I'm drawing a lot of Sam lately. I think it has something to do with the disillusionment I'm experiencing at work - it makes me angry at people a lot. Not at any people in particular, just generally, at how they are, at how the world works. I think Sam must have had her fair share of anger at the world after what it did to her. Here however; she's fifteen and her only worry in the world is how stupid the girl sitting next to them looks in her over-sized flannel shirt.

It's not a very good drawing, but I so rarely find it in myself to draw my characters I thought I'd post it nevertheless.

Her grin was back again though, and she affixed the ridiculous glasses resolutely to the top of her head. "Let's go!" She commanded suddenly.

Nicely done. The colors, anatomy is fine, background also and most of all I can see the story behind it.

I often don't take the time to write a comment below the drawings of other people's OCs because I rarely find some that interest me. However, your drawing style and colouring is really stunning. I love how dynamic this drawing is. It would say a lot even if the quote wasn't there. Don't say it's not a good drawing - it definitely is. :D

Wow, thank you! It's a great honor then for me, having created characters that have the ability to interest other people. For some reason the messier the drawing, the more accurately I manage to capture them :]

It's not a very good drawing? You are kidding! I love that kind of sketchy illustration a lot, drawn on dark paper with all the decent but accentuated color effects. And you're great in drawing different kinds of faces and .... manly arms!!! "Unperfect" things often has a lot of charme.

thank you! I think inperfect people are much easier to draw than pretty beautiful ones; they end up looking like statues. I can't do fully finished pieces too well, I think the sketchiness makes it more acceptable that there are mistakes :]

I think people pay too much attention on perfect anatomy and such, instead of looking at the complete result. Art can have mistakes!

This is such a delightfully vivid sketch; the lines are so full of life and movement. It feels like a very candid shot, capturing a moment within a sequence of time. And even though it does not represent the best time in your life or that of your characters, it is still important and special, for it represents your growth and inner realizations, as they draw you closer to your characters, helping them to develop and mature as well.

The line texturing in reflections particularly impresses me; they go that extra mile to really make the shading pop and the scene come alive. And they're all so well placed, giving a clean sense of direction as to light source. So many artists (Including myself) tend to go willy-nilly and put reflections wherever they 'feel' right, that we often lose the concept of direction. It is nice to see someone who hasn't.

Thank you for your kind comment. I think getting to know ones characters is a long journey, and I might have taken another step on it while working on this picture.
